Many potential students will ask us if we help with job placement after graduation. The answer is yes! Our goal is to help every student find a job that they love. A lot of our students find a job as a dental assistant before they graduate from our program! We are able to give you a great review as a student when any dentist calls us as for a reference.
We help build your resume and provide interviewing skills. We feel these are key components when looking for a job. We want you to stand out from the other applicants. We encourage students to even apply for jobs looking for “experienced assistants” or “minimum 1 or 2 years’ experience”. You may not have a ton of experience, but you may be the perfect fit for the job and the person they are looking for. Confidence is key, and dentists can really tell when you are feeling secure during an interview. No one is perfect at everything, and everyone has to start somewhere. If you are determined and motivated, you will find a job quickly!
The job outlook for dental assistants is looking wonderful! According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, “Employment of dental assistants is projected to grow 19 percent from 2016 to 2026, much faster than the average for all occupations. Ongoing research linking oral health and general health will continue to increase the demand for preventive dental services. Dentists will continue to hire dental assistants to complete routine clinical and administrative tasks, allowing the dentist to work more efficiently. As dental practices grow, more dental assistants will be needed. As the large baby-boom population ages, and as people keep more of their original teeth than did previous generations, the need to maintain and treat teeth will continue to increase the need for dental care.”
This is fabulous news for the dental profession, and there is no better time than now to start your new career. We have several offices that have reached out to us for one of OUR students. OceanPointe Dental Assisting Academies will help you land the job of your dreams.
